GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Perform janitorial/custodial duties as described in the contract and directed by the Project Manager. Shall perform general cleaning of all floors, surfaces, restrooms, windows, vertical transportation, interior glass, waste management and disposal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Perform dusting of furniture, windowsills, ledges, office equipment, hand rails, etc.
- Spot cleaning of walls, partitions, baseboards, doors, floors and fixtures.
- Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures and surfaces.
- Stock consumable supplies in restrooms.
- Clean glass doors and windows.
- Clean surface areas and floors of vertical transportation.
- Trash collection and recycled items collection and removal from the building.
- Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment.
- Plan and organize work to meet internal and customer established timelines and deadlines.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment and comply with all applicable security and safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Janitor or Custodian.
- Knowledge of standard janitorial service methods, practices and techniques used in an industrial or commercial environment, and preferably in a government related environment.
- Ability to operate janitorial equipment and machinery in accordance with government standards.
- Must have a working knowledge and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.
