Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BIM Manager to lead development, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and systems within our organization. The BIM Manager will collaborate with IT, project teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure the effective coordination and utilization of BIM technologies, aligning with organizational goals and project requirements.
Essential Functions
1. BIM Strategy and Standards Development:
- Work with internal teams to develop and maintain BIM standards, workflows, and processes across the organization.
- Lead the development, implementation, and administration of BIM-related standards for all projects, files, and models.
- Ensure adherence to BIM standards and quality control for project deliverables across both offices.
2. Revit Expertise and Library Management:
- Act as the “go-to” resource for Revit-related inquiries and troubleshooting.
- Manage and maintain Revit libraries, templates, and content files, ensuring alignment with project needs and organizational standards.
- Work with the IT team to monitor and test Revit software updates and suggest or implement new add-ons to improve workflows.
- Develop and enforce standards for Revit family creation and ensure optimized performance of Revit libraries.
3. Project Collaboration and Problem Solving:
- Work with project teams to develop and execute strategies that leverage BIM tools to solve problems and enhance project outcomes.
- Assist teams in identifying, testing, and implementing BIM technologies to improve design and production processes.
- Provide quality control for BIM models and ensure integration with other applications used in projects.
4. Technology Implementation:
- Evaluate and recommend BIM-related technologies and software that enhance project delivery and streamline workflows.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the firm at the forefront of digital innovation in architecture.
- Provide leadership in the implementation of new tools and workflows, ensuring smooth transitions and integration with existing systems.
5. Training and Support:
- Provide end-user training and ongoing support for BIM tools and processes.
- Lead workshops to enhance team proficiency and advance understanding of BIM standards and workflows.
- Develop resources and educational materials to ensure consistency in BIM adoption across teams.
- Act as a mentor for junior staff and a resource for project teams, providing hands-on support with BIM tools and best practices.
6. Leadership and Innovation:
- Interface with cross-disciplinary teams to drive innovation and ensure BIM processes align with project goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging BIM technologies to enhance organizational efficiency.
- Represent the organization in BIM forums and professional networks to stay updated on industry trends.
- Act as an approachable and engaging presence within the organization, building strong connections with staff through regular, interactive communication and active listening.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a BIM management or coordination role within an architectural or engineering firm.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and other BIM-related software (Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.).
- Strong understanding of BIM standards and protocols, including experience developing and maintaining office-wide BIM guidelines.
- Proven experience managing Revit content libraries and developing reusable components.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead teams through BIM implementation on large-scale projects.
- Experience in training staff and developing educational resources related to BIM.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and departments.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and integrating BIM with LEED certification processes.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Dynamo or Python for advanced BIM workflows.
- Experience with cloud-based collaboration platforms like BIM 360 or other project management tools.
Salary Range
This position offers $90,000 - $130,000 per year. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience and market.
