What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entrepreneur-in-Residence position at Intel?
The mission of Intel's Incubation Disruptive Innovation (IDI) team is to create an environment to identify new opportunities for innovation and disruptive technologies as a path to create new markets and new organizational capabilities leveraging Intel's competitive advantages. IDI is a fast paced dynamic and startup like organization that is responsible for incubating new ideas within Intel. Our portfolio includes HW SW Solutions and SaaS businesses.
As an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) for our IDI incubation team, you will be responsible for vetting out potentially disruptive business ideas by guiding venture teams through our incubator and incubation process - pre, during, and post incubation. For those ventures that have received seed funding, you will manage those teams on key deliverables through their first set of milestones.
In this role your daily agenda will be anything but ordinary. You will:
- Evaluate and manage new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures
- Oversee market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs
- Provide leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives
- Define vision, strategies, and tactics
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
Key Deliverables:
- Work as a general management leader and product management expert with entrepreneurial teams responsible for creating disruptive new businesses
- Be accountable for venture success and maintaining a positive and risk-taking culture
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing and vetting potential entrepreneurial team members and venture ideas
- Establish close advisor relationship with the venture team's leader, helping guide the leader and the team through the Intel incubation process
- Facilitate workshops and exercises that help establish team norms, teach our Incubation Playbook and/or help advance the team towards their goals
- Support business development activities during and post incubation funding

- Exceptional people skills and the demonstrated ability to gain confidence, build rapport and drive consensus with team members, board members, and partners
- Execution oriented individual that understands and can apply lean startup thinking, manage complex projects and run teams
- Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced, fluid environment
- Outstanding product management skills with the ability to develop product concept visions, MVP, roadmaps at both strategic and detailed level
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 8 years of work experience with demonstrated track record of software and/or digital product management leadership
- 5 years of experience managing and/or leading teams at an executive level
- Past roles working at or consulting to global enterprises, ideally in a strategic role
- Time spent in customer facing roles at a senior level (e.g., consulting, sales, sales support, customer service)
- Familiarity and/or experience interviewing customers for market research and/or Voice of the Customer initiatives
- Previous experience working at a start-up
- Experience facilitating ideation and solution brainstorming workshops for cross-functional teams

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
