The Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Investments will drive the firm’s real estate investment strategy while leading the Asset Management team to optimize portfolio performance. This executive will oversee asset-level deal sourcing, underwriting, and transaction execution while ensuring long-term asset value creation. The role is pivotal to aligning the firm's acquisition and operational strategies with its overall objectives, focusing on delivering exceptional returns to investors.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Strategy
- Develop complex financial models to evaluate potential acquisitions across targeted markets and asset classes (e.g., multifamily, office, retail, industrial).
- Prepare financial projections and forecasts to support investment decisions.
- Lead the underwriting process, assessing potential investments for risk, returns, and strategic fit.
Transaction Management
- Manage asset-level deal structuring, negotiation, and closing processes, collaborating with Legal and Capital Markets teams.
- Oversee due diligence activities to ensure thorough evaluation of investment opportunities.
- Provide necessary investment data or asset-level insights to assist the Capital Markets team in securing funding.
Asset Management Leadership
- Provide strategic oversight for the Asset Management team to enhance operational efficiency and portfolio value.
- Develop and implement business plans for assets, focusing on revenue growth, cost optimization, and market positioning.
- Lead quarterly asset reviews, ensuring alignment with financial targets and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Manage relationship with Intelica Property Accounting and Property Management teams and McClain Construction.
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor the performance of existing portfolio and provide regular updates to Principals.
- Review and help facilitate any transactions between the properties and the fund level, including capital calls, distributions, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and fee payments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of exit strategies for dispositions.
Team Leadership and Development
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing investments and asset management team.
- Inspire and motivate a team known for excellent client service, high performance, and collaboration.
Experience:
- Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated VP commercial investment level experience.
- Five to seven years of financial experience and management experience with the day-to-day commercial investment organization.
