Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Metrology Engineer to support our quality and validation activities by ensuring precision measurement, compliance with customer specifications, and process control. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM), metrology tools, and statistical process control methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per customer specifications and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Measure and inspect parts, reporting findings to engineering for validation and quality assurance.
- Identify appropriate measurement techniques and create work instructions for measurement procedures.
- Verify tool changes and assess process dimensions following tool modifications.
- Conduct capability studies, gauge repeatability & reproducibility (Gage R&R) analysis to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Generate statistical reports reflecting process control, process capability, and gauge repeatability.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles for accurate part evaluation.
- Maintain scheduling and prioritize metrology tasks based on project requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven metrology experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience in programming, operating, and troubleshooting CMM (Zeiss) and Vision Systems (Keyence, OGP).
- Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, and profilometers.
- Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), GD&T, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, or automotive).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 quality management systems.
- Familiarity with automation in metrology processes.
