In this role you will ensure timely execution and manage the risk of multiple programs of highly skilled teams. The technical program manager (TPM) will develop and manage program plans ensuring that plans are executable and key milestones are met. The TPM will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and balance resource allocation plans, control program schedule and cost, and review risks to ensure customer expectations and product outcomes are met. TPM support business development and customer transition plans. Beyond program management duties, TPM’s also participate and support technical execution of several programs.

- The ability to manage several projects of varying scale and complexity simultaneously

- Possess excellent business insight and the ability to move smoothly between projects
- At least 2-5 years of experience of highly technical work at the implementation level in software development, machine learning, or big data.

Job Duties
- Lead a team of software developers, engineers, and scientists
- Cultivate and grow strong relationships with current and potential customers
- Develop and maintain project deliverables (project management plan, quality assurance plan, monthly status reports, monthly financial reports and project schedule)
- Work with multiple technical teams to ensure timely and high-quality project execution
- Identify and control risks using risk mitigation strategies
- Communicate effectively with technical teams, internal stakeholders and customers
- Coordinate with the talent acquisition team when staffing needs arise
- Support the business development team with customer transition plans and proposal development
- Contribute to technical aspects of projects based on technical skills. Possible tasks include: software development, algorithm testing/evaluation, devops, or UI design/testing
- Familiar with AI/machine learning concepts and applications
- Outstanding leadership, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills
- Project management/execution software (Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence)
- Strong experience in identify/deriving requirement and using them to control project scope
- Experience with Critical Path Method/Earned Value or comparable method of controlling schedule, cost, and other deviations from the project plan.
- Software development experience using Agile
- Comfortable with object-oriented concepts with hands on development experience
- Understand the landscape of the web, mobile, big data, and machine learning technology
- Apply creative problem-solving skills to a variety of problems
- Facilitate technical proposal preparation
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field
- Two or more years’ experience years in a technical role and 2 years in a management/leadership role
- At least 5 years of experience of highly technical work at the implementation level in software development, machine learning, or big data.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or a degree such as Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
