Job Description (Purpose and Responsibilities)
- Responsible for generating new business opportunities through research and various means to contact and engage;
- Follow up on leads generated through other sources including but not limited to pharmaceutical companies, biotech and academia;
- Structure, negotiate and facilitate transactions with sufficient speed and provide support for alliance management during collaboration period;
- Meet quarterly and annual sales targets and provide accurate sales reports and forecasts.
- Act as a proactive partner with existing clients i.e. to be an advocate and offer additional existing or new services;
- Identify and manage expectations and objectives of both internal stakeholders and external partners; ensure coordinated and compliant processing with timely communications and reporting;
- Maintain an active schedule for meeting with new and existing clients in the biopharmaceutical and other industries, expecting intensive traveling;
- Contribute to business development strategy and implement operation models by working with senior management;
- Participate and make presentations on behalf of company at partnering events and other various conference and networking events;
Requirements(Qualification,Experience and Skills)
- Advanced degree in Chemistry or life sciences required; PhD preferred;
- More than 5 years relevant experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry with broad scientific knowledge and business development experience;
- Strong business acumen, ability to translate scientific and technical information to create partnering opportunity and to influence decisions or issues with business impact;
- Strong networking, organizational, analytic and negotiation skills as well as a sound judgment;
- Good understanding of industry trends and the competitive landscape;
- Excellent written and oral communication in English;
- Self-motivated, strong teamwork across functional departments and time zones required.
