Job Responsibilities
- Implement best practice nursing care in post-acute residents in nearby areas
- Monitor resident conditions and provide updates to the nursing team
- Measure and document basic vital signs of residents
- Assist residents with grooming, feeding, toileting, and other basic activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Promote a clean and safe environment by ensuring best practices in hygiene and clearing areas of hazards
- Transport residents around the facility and assist them with movements as needed during the day
- Interact with residents daily to keep them engaged, provide comfort, and build trusting relationships
- Be accountable for following and adhering to care plans for residents and applicable rules, regulations, and policies
- Bridge communications between staff and residents (and their family members)
Qualifications and Skills
- Current Connecticut CNA certification
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Knowledge of medical terminology and nursing care procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication and social skills
