TITLE: Purchasing Associate B
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The procurement of quality goods and services at a competitive price and in a timely manner while meeting the needs of the end user. Assist in any tasks as directed by and under the supervision of the Purchasing Supervisor and/or the Purchasing Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
2-5 years of purchasing or experience in a related field
Strong personal computer skills to include but not limited to Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer
Accurate 10-key by touch
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must be goal and results oriented and have strong organizational skills
Must be professional and able to maintain confidentiality
Must be able to multi-task, take initiative, and be highly motivated
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in any tasks as directed by and under the supervision of the Purchasing Supervisor and/or the Purchasing Manager
Enter Purchase Requisitions in the AS400
Fax requests for quotation to assigned vendors
Manual faxing of bid packages
Negotiate pricing for best company value
Evaluate and make recommendation for purchase of material or services
Issue Purchase Orders per Purchasing Manager approval
Purchase online orders
Reconcile Accounting discrepancies
Resolve Overdue Delivery reports
Filing of completed P.O.'s, P.O. Confirmations, and Overdue Notices
Expedite orders when necessary
Perform other duties as required or assigned. Filing of completed P.O.'s, P.O. Confirmations, and Overdue Notices

TRAINING:
Hands-on internal training consisting of sitting with experienced staff members
Additional training from outside sources as recommended by the Purchasing Manager
Mandatory company safety training for office staff
