Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & Monitoring
- Design and implement application performance monitoring strategies across the enterprise.
- Utilize tools such as New Relic, SolarWinds, and Azure Metrics to detect and diagnose performance issues in real time.
- Lead performance testing strategies, analyze test results, and recommend improvements for scalability and elasticity.
- Ensure IT is the first to detect and respond to incidents through proactive monitoring and alerting systems.
- Act as the escalation point for diagnosing complex performance issues beyond developer and infrastructure team capabilities.
- Work with teams to design self-healing systems and conduct training for application developers, DevOps, and IT operations.
- Guide teams on configuring and optimizing monitoring solutions.
- Serve as an advisor on performance enhancements for application teams.
- Analyze business impact and uptime requirements to create effective monitoring solutions.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to provide visibility into application and infrastructure performance.
- Evaluate, select, and implement best-in-class performance monitoring tools.
- Analyze system architectures, recommend optimizations, and establish best practices for scalability and reliability.
- Be available for on-call duties to address critical application performance issues.
- Production environment expertise, including front-end applications, APIs (internal & third-party), back-end services, mobile applications, networks, infrastructure, and SQL databases.
- Strong software development lifecycle and architecture understanding.
- Proficiency with SolarWinds, New Relic, and Azure Metrics for monitoring and diagnostics.
- Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex performance issues.
- Expertise in capacity planning and application performance management.
- Deep understanding of monolithic and microservices architectures in a hybrid cloud/on-premises environment.
- 5 years of experience in performance testing, strategy development, and optimization.
- Experience with self-healing architectures and automated remediation techniques.
- Ability to lead discussions and drive adoption of performance best practices across teams.
- Experience with ServiceNow Service Mapping, ITOM, and integration with APM tools.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive dashboards for KPI reporting and stakeholder insights.
- Hybrid (Harrisburg, PA) – 1 day per week in-office preferred, but fully remote candidates will be considered.
- On-call duties as required for critical performance issues.
- Regular collaboration with developers, IT infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
