Job Summary:
The Configuration Management Analyst will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ITSM framework. This role will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of IT assets and configuration items (CIs) to support IT operations, change management, and service delivery processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ITIL principles and experience working with CMDB tools, preferably ServiceNow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, update, and maintain the CMDB, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of configuration items (CIs).
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures for configuration management, ensuring data integrity.
- Collaborate with IT teams, asset managers, and service owners to ensure CIs are accurately recorded and maintained.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliation processes to validate CMDB data against discovery tools and asset management databases.
- Support ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management, by providing accurate CMDB data.
- Analyze CMDB data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Assist in the design and implementation of integrations between CMDB and other IT systems.
- Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into IT asset relationships, dependencies, and lifecycle management.
- Provide training and support to IT teams on CMDB-related processes and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience working with CMDB administration and IT asset management in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework, with ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
- Experience with ServiceNow CMDB or other enterprise CMDB tools.
- Familiarity with ITSM processes, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across IT teams and business units.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, ITOM, or Asset Management modules.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and virtualized environments.
- SQL, Power BI, or other data analysis tools for CMDB reporting.
- Experience in healthcare or insurance industries is a plus.
