About This Position
The Inter-American Development Bank is seeking a technical Lead with extensive experience in designing and implementing AI system architectures and solutions. The ideal candidate will ensure these systems are scalable, efficient, and capable of handling complex tasks. You will work in the GEN AI product team which is part of the technology department to lay the groundwork to support the different GEN AI needs of the Bank.

About This Position
The Inter-American Development Bank is seeking a technical Lead with extensive experience in designing and implementing AI system architectures and solutions. The ideal candidate will ensure these systems are scalable, efficient, and capable of handling complex tasks. You will work in the GEN AI product team which is part of the technology department to lay the groundwork to support the different GEN AI needs of the Bank.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help set the technical direction for the implementation and support of GEN AI Solutions
- Offer technical guidance and recommend improvement opportunities for GEN AI technology and supporting infrastructure
- Implement changes to mitigate risks and address challenges associated with generative AI applications.
- Conduct pilots and explorative efforts to test hypothesis related to GEN AI technology
- Collaborate within a team environment, coaching and upskilling team members.
- Work with GEN AI Team to convert complex business requirements into solid technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of generative AI technologies and their potential applications.
- Ensure the ethical use of generative AI in accordance with organizational policies and industry best practices.
- Validate and verify the accuracy of generated content and recommend compliant tools for use with non-public or confidential information.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, AI, or a related field.
- Experience: At least five years of professional experience in AI, machine learning, or related fields, with a focus on generative models. Proven track record of leading/collaborating with technical teams and delivering AI-driven projects; and strong understanding of ethical considerations in AI and experience with regulatory compliance. Knowledge in: Machine and Deep Learning; Vector and Graph Databases; Natural Language Processing and Data Management; C# and Python; Cloud AWS and Azure; MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
