About This Position
The CSD Department is looking for an upbeat Resource Planning and Administration Associate with excellent communication, inter-personal, technical and administrative skills to perform critical functions such as providing administrative, technical and operational support on a variety of areas such as human resources management, budget, finance, and corporate matters.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate activities within the Biodiversity & Natural Capital and Disaster Risk Management Unit to ensure the smooth operation of the area and provide procedural and/or work guidance to more junior staff, as required.
- Interpret and apply knowledge of Bank policies and procedures on the day-to-day activities and requests.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Sector (CSD) Manager front office and other CSD divisions, in: i) All budget and personnel planning matters; ii)The processing of contractual and consulting firms’ requests, as needed; (iii) Monitoring the execution and disbursements of the Unit’s contracts in coordination with project team leaders and Country Offices.
- Monitor budget execution with a complete view of the process and resources (transactional, standalone, and special funds).
- Perform accounts payable functions, approve supporting documentation and authorize payments in the corresponding systems.
- Maintain databases, analyze data and prepare ad hoc analytical reports using available corporate and unit data.
- Provide analytical and technical guidance to the Unit Chiefs in the preparation of the work program, business plan and budget within the Results-Based Budgeting (RBB) framework.
- Provide guidance on Technical Cooperation and Economic Sector Work preparation and approval processes.
- Education: You hold a master’s degree in business administration, Economics, International Relations or related field.
- Experience: You have at least 2 years of relevant experience with development projects. Experience/knowledge in the following areas is a plus: i) knowledge of developing issues in Latin America and the Caribbean; ii) familiarity with economic development terminology; iii) knowledge of Bank systems (SAP, Hyperion, Service Now, Convergence, Concur, among others).
- Languages: You are fluent in English and Spanish.
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
