Job Description
The Senior Director, Enterprise Resource Planning will oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and management of the Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to meet the organization’s evolving business needs. The Director will serve as the primary Workday technology leader, ensuring optimal performance, continuous improvement, and alignment of Workday solutions with organizational objectives.
Special attention will be given towards improving effectiveness and efficiency and driving leadership and staff engagement. The Director will measure technology functionality against organizational needs and create a roadmap for systemically supporting a comprehensive range of disciplines to include benefits, compensation, recruitment, and workforce planning. This role will lead cross-functional teams in delivering efficient, secure, and scalable solutions across Workday modules such as Human Capital Management (HCM), Time Tracking and Payroll and other integrated applications. This role will work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders (HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, Finance & Accounting, Payroll, IT, Legal, Compliance, etc.).
Responsibilities and Duties
- Operationally oversees ERP technology and reporting maximization. This is a hands-on leader who will improve HR, Finance, and Data Analytics processes with the use of technology while maintaining compliance with all policies and procedures and federal and state regulations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance and expand the use of Workday modules to improve business processes and user experience.
- Provide functional and technical expertise and leadership to drive, maintain and optimize our ERP System and integrations.
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance, administration, enhancements, and communication related to ERP System, including managing releases / upgrades, developing project plans to leverage new features, and serving as primary subject matter expert for optimizing system design, configuration, and integration.
- Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual processes and partner with teams across the organization.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business leaders, IT teams, and Workday to prioritize and deliver value-driven solutions.
- Oversee large-scale Workday projects, including implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Develop and implement best practices for Workday system configuration, integration, and testing.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Data Analytics and IT departments to assess needs and translate them into Workday system requirements.
- Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders to drive adoption and advocate for data-driven decision-making.
- Provide regular updates and metrics on the status, success and Return on Investment of Workday initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure the team remains up-to-date on Workday certifications, releases and best practices.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all Workday modules.
- Develop and enforce security policies, including role-based access controls and compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Monitor and address risks related to Workday system performance and data security.
- Monitor industry trends, Workday roadmap updates, and emerging technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of ERP capabilities.
- Conduct system audits and user feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement.
- Create and manage training programs to enhance user adoption and proficiency across the organization.
