Responsibilities
- Review and interpret aviation safety regulations, policies, and directives applicable to contract support work at ALC.
- Develop and maintain an OSHA compliant Safety training program for Aviation Maintenance operations
- Develop a schedule and conduct routine workplace inspections, compliance audits and ad-hoc inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Conduct all mishap investigations into incidents related to Aviation Maintenance operations and prepare reports on findings.
- Maintain injury/illness mishap data, analyzes reports, and initiate action to improve safety program
- Ensure that quarterly assessment/monitoring level or medical surveillance and monitoring exposure levels will be conducted in areas where there may be exposure to hazardous dust and metal shavings.
- Serve as the point of contact for company safety matters including: Aviation Maintenance Safety program, Operational Risk Management and Environmental Compliance program
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of (8) years of experience in the field of aviation maintenance (preferably with rotary wing aircraft)
- Experience working as an Aviation Maintenance Safety Officer. Familiarity with aviation safety regulations, risk management principles, and accident investigation procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
