Job Details
Our organization is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Safety Manager to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our safety standards, and ensuring the well-being of our employees. The ideal candidate will be adept at implementing safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits, and training staff on safety protocols. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a commitment to the promotion of a positive safety culture within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the company's safety programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees to ensure understanding and adherence to safety procedures.
- Lead accident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Manage the company's emergency response procedures and act as the primary contact during emergency situations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Promote a culture of safety within the organization through effective leadership and communication.
- Manage and maintain the company's safety equipment, including AEDs and First Aid kits.
- Prepare and present safety reports to management, highlighting trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role within the construction industry.
- Proficient knowledge of EM 385, OSHA, AED, CPR, ASP, STS, First Aid, Hazard Recognition, Accident Investigation, Safety Training, and Emergency Response.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification is preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective safety programs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct thorough accident investigations and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Experience in delivering safety training to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to promote a positive safety culture within an organization.
- Ability to manage emergency situations effectively and calmly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
