About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians to join our team in Linden, NJ. These technicians will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing processing, packaging, and facility equipment to ensure seamless operations in a food production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, conveyors, refrigeration units, packaging equipment, and facility systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Work with PLC controls, AC/DC motor controls, logic circuits, and grounding systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist in the procurement of parts and planning maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and food industry standards.
- Support process improvement projects to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Provide technical guidance to production staff on equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- 2–6 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing, production, or packaging environment.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Experience working with single and three-phase voltage and the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley preferred) is a plus.
- Ability to use multimeters and diagnostic instruments to test and repair equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Comfortable working in a cold/refrigerated environment as required in food production.
- Must be able to lift up to 49 lbs and stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in food processing, packaging, or material handling equipment maintenance.
- Trade school certification or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking repairs.
- Basic proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, and other digital tools.
