What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fraud/Security Officer position at InterBank?
This position can office at any of our Oklahoma or Texas locations.
Objective/Summary:
The Fraud/Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the physical security of the bank by implementing security procedures, responding to emergencies, enforcing security protocols, identifying suspicious activity, protecting assets such as cash and valuables, and collaborating with law enforcement to ensure the safety of customers, employees, and bank property. They are also involved in conducting risk assessments and training staff on security protocols.
The Fraud/Security Officer is also responsible for investigating fraud and suspicious activity with regards to Check, ACH, Wire, Digital Banking, etc., and implementing/overseeing Fraud procedures, detecting trends, conducting risk assessments, and providing reports of fraudulent activity to management as needed.
The Fraud/Security Officer is also responsible for monitoring contracts/vendors that supply services such as ATM/Bank Equipment maintenance, Alarm systems, Armored Car, Teller/Bank supplies, etc.
Essential Functions:
- Develop Security Policy and Procedures, report to Board of Directors at least annually, and work with designated staff at all locations to ensure compliance.
- Report Security incidents to executive management and other pertinent employees or 3rd parties (law enforcement) as needed.
- Oversee and log fraud incidents, provide recommendations to mitigate risks/losses to management.
- Provide fraud prevention training to front line employees.
- Answer general Deposit Operations questions from all locations.
- Work together with other departments when needed. (Compliance, Legal, BSA, etc.)
- Understands and applies general banking guidelines and accounting and bookkeeping principles
- Makes recommendations regarding improving operations and financial position of company.
- Interacts in a professional, courteous manner with customers, co-workers, vendors, etc.
- Maintains strict confidentiality guidelines in accordance with Company policy.
- Demonstrates knowledge and expertise of general bank accounting procedures and support the Companys overall mission, standards, policies and procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Maintain personal grooming and company dress and appearance standards.
- Maintain company attendance standards.
- Other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years of experience with Bank Operations/Security required
- A valid drivers license.
- Satisfactory credit and criminal background check.
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Skills:
- Hard Skills: Proficient in basic computer operations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Able to type efficiently.
- Soft Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, organization skills, can-do attitude, problem solving skills, decision-making skills sense of urgency, and strong work ethic.
- Typical Physical Demands:
- This position includes 25% travel.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Requires sitting for an extending period with some walking, with some bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
- Occasional light lifting not over 25lbs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
