Combined HOS/ER APP

A hospital in west-central Wisconsin has an opening for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum Hospitalist and Emergency Medicine coverage.

Opportunity Details:

• Schedule: 10 or 12-hour shifts
• ER typical need is 11a-9p, HOS typical need is 7p-7a so NIGHTS
• No call shifts
• Patient Volume: 1-2 admits per night
• Med Surg Volume: 10-15 max
• Annual ER Volume: 10k
• No procedures
• Support Staff: ER physician support
• No ICU
• Needed Certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS

ER APP Details:

• Typical need is 11a-9p
• Need: ATLS, ACLS, PALS
• No ICU
• No procedures
• 10k volume
• Cerner
• ER docs cover 24 hour shifts, so always a doc present when the APP is there
• HOS APP Details:
• (typical need is 7p-7a) so NIGHTS
• PALS required
• HOS APP solo at night, but ER provider support there
• 1-2 admits at night floor calls
• max capacity med surg is 21 - usually never more than 10-15 max (at 15 due to nursing ratio restrictions)
  
  
  

We average less than one pediatric patient a month. Without digging into exact numbers its probably 6-8 per year and mostly during the winter/RSV season. While low volume we must be prepared to admit. We are committed to keep care local when we can meet their clinical needs.
