Job Description
The Commercial Assistant role is an entry-level position into the Commercial Department designed to lead into a junior trading role if successful. Interco is seeking a motivated and ambitious individual who excels in a competitive environment. This role requires the individual to make strategic and analytical decisions both internally and when customer facing.
The Commercial Assistant role begins with a 4-6-week hybrid training period in the operations facilities and commercial offices. Upon completion, the individual will transition to a full-time role in the commercial department.

The Interco recycling facilities are separated into three departments: nonferrous metals, computers and electronics, and battery processing. The nonferrous facility is located on the 40-acre main campus in Madison (IL) while the computers and electronics are processed in Edwardsville where the Administrative and some logistics offices are located. The commercial department is located on The Hill in St. Louis.

Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile receiving reports and conduct purchase & sales order entry;
- Support traders in day-to-day functions;
- Learn to identify business and market opportunities;
- Truck and rail scheduling for inbound/outbound and import/export shipments;
- Develop target lists in strategic sub-markets;
- Generate marketing material in Microsoft Word and PPT;
- Engage with senior traders and Head of Trading
Recent Graduates:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, and others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Internship experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in a competitive, team oriented, profit driven role preferred
- Experience in a role that requires business acumen and decision making
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
Compensation:
- $50,000-$75,000
