Scope of Responsibilities: The Industrial Refrigeration Area Technical Leader is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and oversight of all service operations in their assigned region. The Area Technical Leader will lead all Technicians, provide training, mentorship and perform services in the field. The Area Technical Leader will collaborate with all aspects of the Company including sales, estimating, construction, and clients to assess and meet their needs.
Essential Functions:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of all service operations in various areas, including service/maintenance, job quoting, and customer relations.
- Maintain and manage client relationships, drive quality, sales, and gross profits by identifying and expanding opportunities.
- Represent the company by providing the customer with the highest quality experience and superior customer service.
- Collaborate with all aspects of the Company to include sales, estimating, and construction.
- Lead, train and mentor a team of Service Technicians.
- Assist estimating and parts regarding site equipment for service.
- Demonstrate an understating and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Actively search for new clients and service opportunities.
- Strengthen relationships with current and existing customers.
- Maintain and foster strong relationships with technicians.
- Provide field service and maintenance 2-3 days a week depending on the utilization of the technician team.
- Maintain a team utilization goal including the area technical leader as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to improve region’s overall performance (internal and external)
- Proficient understanding of both freon and ammonia refrigerant systems, CO2 experience is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs on refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, documents, diagrams, and drawings.
- Exceptional knowledge of refrigeration compressors, electrical troubleshooting of common types of industrial refrigeration systems and control alarm systems.
- Knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and micro compressor control systems.
- Knowledge of single systems, split systems, and walk-in boxes.
- Understand and apply commercial and industrial codes.
- Exceptional safety knowledge of tools, testing devices and surroundings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised or with limited instruction.
- Ability to train and supervise others as well as instill a positive and productive work culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and initiative-taking.
