SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Intercountry Adoption Accreditation and Maintenance Entity, Inc. (IAAME) is designated as an accrediting entity by the U.S. Central Adoption Authority, the Department of State (Department). IAAME performs the functions of an accrediting entity as set forth in a Memorandum of Agreement (Agreement) between the Department and IAAME, and pursuant to The Hague Convention, the Intercountry Adoption Act of 2000, the Universal Accreditation Act of 2012, and 22 CFR Part 96.

The Analyst is responsible for the implementation of activities and processes related to intercountry adoption accreditation/approval and renewal and ongoing monitoring and oversight of adoption service providers who perform intercountry adoption services. The Analyst completes work directly with the adoption service providers in keeping with the strategic goals, compliance requirements, IAAME’s policies and procedures, and responsibilities of the Agreement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess and evaluate the compliance of adoption service providers with 22 CFR 96 subpart F through IAAME’s activities and processes for accreditation, approval, and renewal and monitoring and oversight utilizing the Substantial Compliance System.
  • Lead processes for and evaluate the compliance of adoption services providers through the following activities:
    • Initial accreditation or approval
    • Accreditation or approval renewal
    • Complaints
    • Self-reporting, to include but not limited to financial reviews and reporting, independent audits, annual attestations, semi-annual reports on complaints, suitability and service provision changes, etc.
    • Compliance Investigations
    • Adverse Actions
    • Other ongoing monitoring and oversight activities
  • Provide timely, accurate, and ongoing communication and support to adoption service providers.
    • Communication/calls with adoption service providers required at least quarterly.
  • Make recommendations for and oversee adverse actions against adoption service providers.
  • Conduct on-site reviews for adoption services providers in IAAME’s jurisdiction, primarily for accreditation, approval, and renewal review, but also for monitoring and oversight activities as needed.
  • Develop and present reports on findings of compliance for adoption service providers.
  • Participate in IAAME Decision Committee meetings, acting as a voting member of the Committee as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and reporting of issues, conflicts, and concerns to the Program Manager.
  • Coordinate, attend, and participate in all meetings as required, both internally and externally. While infrequent, meetings may include travel for in-person attendance and participation.
  • Complete all required training and maintain current knowledge of intercountry adoption accreditation standards and activities.
  • Provide information and data as needed for reporting, strategic goal setting, coordination with other accrediting entities, business partners, governmental agencies, stakeholders, etc.
  • Assist in preparation for and participation in performance reviews conducted by the Department as the accrediting entity oversight body.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and implement IAAME policies and best practices with regard to identifying information, HIPAA, security, information systems integrity, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3 or more years’ experience in at least one of the following areas: child welfare, adoption, intercountry adoption, licensing, accreditation, regulatory oversight, standards evaluation, contract management, finance, or accounting

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, and operate office and electronic equipment, to include computers and phones. Duties may require bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, carrying up to 10lbs., driving a motor vehicle, standing and prolonged periods of sitting. Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret organizational documents, general financial statements, policies and procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, effective and accurate documentation, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, adoption service providers, governmental entities, and the general public.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and to prioritize and accomplish tasks autonomously.
  • Strong computer skills, including understanding of Microsoft applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to read, analyze complex documents, and communicate analysis in oral and written form.
  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in a remote capacity from the employee’s professional home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones, which are provided by the employer. Employee is responsible for establishing and maintaining a dedicated workspace that is quiet, clean, safe, ergonomic, and free from distractions.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time exempt position in a non-supervisory role. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. specific to the employee’s time zone. This position regularly requires long hours including potential weekend work or travel. Employees located in other time zones than eastern may require infrequent early morning meetings.

TRAVEL

This position requires approximately one week of domestic travel per month but may require more or less dependent upon the needs of the organization. Although unlikely, international travel may be required.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE
Must be eligible to work in the United States.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time salary position. Full-time employees receive paid time off (PTO), holidays, and a personal floating holiday and are eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, 401k, and life insurance benefits.
