InterDent is based in El Segundo, CA with a second corporate office in Vancouver, WA.
Under the brands Gentle Dental and Smile Keepers, InterDent provides business support to nearly 200 practices in eight states including Arizona, California, Hawaii, Kansas, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington.
This position can be based out of either El Segundo, CA or Vancouver, WA.
This is a full time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of 4 days onsite per week.
Position Description:
The Human Resources Specialist supports the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the HR function for all dental offices within the states of California and Hawaii. This position is focused on employee relations and HR support in a multi-site environment, supporting 30 offices throughout California and Hawaii. This role also supports the Leaves and Benefits team.
A service mindset and a focus on support are critical to success in the position.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the business units being supported and manage all employee relations issues throughout the region
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employees, managers, directors, and executives
- Support Regional Vice President and Directors of Operations in implementing performance improvement strategies
- Work with Operations leaders regarding regional development needs
- Coach leaders on performance management, behavioral issues, policy interpretations and terminations to minimize legal exposure
- Facilitate and mediate interventions in order to resolve conflict
Benefits Responsibilities:
- Provides timely and accurate responses to employees and all levels of management concerning day-to-day issues and activities.
- Answers phone and email and responds to inquiries.
- Updates information in HRIS and intranet portal.
Pay Range
$27 - $30 per/hr DOE
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with employee relations
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage difficult and stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships.
- Proven critical thinking and good judgment.
- Desire to grow and develop in the HR field.
- Ability to manage business expectations and resolve concerns, by communicating status and issues.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate issues as necessary.
- Solid and advanced systems capability (excel, word, PowerPoint, HRIS).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of HR administration experience, preferably in Benefits, HRIS or LOA administration, can include internship experience.
- Must have a solid understanding of general HR and employment law.
