Ensure proper operation and functionality of fire alarm systems in accordance with all national and local standards. Uphold standards of UL certified fire system sites. In addition, the technician will troubleshoot malfunctioning and inoperative systems and equipment.

Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA72 standards as well as state and local codes
- Effectively read and understand commercial blueprints and diagrams
- Work directly in the field, using the most efficient methods to complete fire alarm installations and resolve fire alarm service issues
- Perform routine and emergency service calls by diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing malfunctioning or inoperable equipment and devices
- Partner with Installation and Service managers on various installation projects and service commitments
- Direct interaction with customers to explain work to be performed and answer questions
- Ensure customer satisfaction and a positive customer experience
- Report escalated customer and system issues back to management
- Maintain, verify, and submit all documentation for inventoried items per the company policy
- Always maintain a company vehicle for cleanliness and safe operation
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
- Train and mentor new hires and other fire alarm technicians.
- High School Diploma or GED
- NICET Certification is a PLUS
- Valid driver’s license
- If applicable, hold a state fire/burg, state alarm license or ability to do so
- Knowledge of various fire systems, devices, and programming is preferred
- Ability to read and understand commercial blueprints and diagrams
- Knowledge of NFPA72 is a plus
- Knowledge of Building Reports is a plus
- Ability to pass applicable state and federal background checks in order to become a registered security installer
- Comfortable using small hand tools and power tools
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to pass applicable state and federal background checks to become a registered security installer
- Comfortable using small hand tools and power tools
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel overnight
- Physical demands include: Finger and wrist dexterity and hand/eye coordination; Heavy physical effort; Climbing stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds; Ability to work from heights such as man lifts, scissor lifts, and rooftops utilizing proper fall protection; Carrying loads up and downstairs.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a proven fire alarm technician in the electronic security and/or fire life safety industry. Commitment to train and mentor technicians.
