Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Direct Support Professional DSP to provide high-quality care and support to our patients in group homes, nursing facilities, and personal care residences. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a caring nature, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- Care for the personal care and hygiene needs of patients.
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating, and nutritional intake.
- Help with ambulation, transfers, and range of motion exercises.
- Monitor patient vitals, measure intake/output, check blood glucose levels, and document any changes.
- Observe patient behavior and notify supervisors of issues requiring a change in care, medication, or equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and driving record required.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Six months to one year of experience working with intellectually and physically disabled individuals preferred.
- Knowledge of the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) preferred.
