Job Overview
School Based Personal Care Aides work with physically and mentally disabled children, ages 4-21, in a one-on-one setting. The role involves providing hands-on personal care, reporting changes in the client's condition, and performing simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services.
Salary and Benefits
- $22 per hour
- $50 quarterly bonuses (up to $200 annually)
- Transportation and mandatory in-services at $18 per hour
Responsibilities
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Assist in keeping the client on task in a classroom setting
- Redirect when necessary in the case of disruption
- Ensure that the child is safe and not harming others
- Report observations or concerns to Interim supervisor
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Six (6) months experience in relative field; behavioral health, pediatrics, etc.
- CPR and First Aid Certificate; preferred
- Reliable transportation
