Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Community Staffing team. The position would be supporting assisted living/memory care communities throughout the Albert Lea area. The hours are mostly per diem shifts and are typically day shift hours Monday -Friday however there are occasional weekend or on/call needs as well.
Responsibilities:
- Case Management for residents in an assisted living/ memory care facility including comprehensive health assessments, medication management, and overall health status monitoring.
- Supervising a CNA's/ PCA's on your shift
- Provide health education to residents and their families on various topics such as disease management, preventative care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for residents.
- Respond to medical emergencies promptly and efficiently, following established protocols and providing immediate care as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and communications related to resident care.
- Work closely with the Director of Nursing, nursing staff, and other team members to maintain a cohesive and supportive care environment.
- Foster open and transparent communication with residents, their families, and staff to promote a positive and collaborative care environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- RN degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current and valid RN license in the state of Minnesota.
- Previous experience in geriatric nursing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with senior residents.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Willingness and flexibility to cover on call needs over the phone.
