Production Planner

Summary

The primary responsibility of the Production Planner is managing inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory and costs.

Essential Functions

• Monitor inventory levels daily and analyze data to forecast trends and demand for specific products and materials.
• Develop and maintain inventory control procedures, including reconciling inventory counts, cycle counting, and physical inventories.
• Work collaboratively with purchasing, production, and logistics departments to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts and overstocks.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the company's systems and identify discrepancies and errors, taking corrective action where necessary.
• Identify slow-moving inventory and develop strategies to reduce or liquidate those items, including working with the sales and marketing departments to promote those items.
• Develop and report inventory key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, including inventory turns, days of inventory on hand, and other relevant metrics.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Evaluate new products and materials and determine their viability for inclusion in the company's inventory.
• Implement and maintain inventory management software and systems to streamline processes and improve accuracy and efficiency.

Required

Education & Experience

• Associates / 2 year Technical School
• 2-4 years applicable job experience
  
  
  

Preferred

• SAP Experience
• Bilingual experience preferred, but not required (English/Spanish)
