Summary
The primary responsibility of the Production Planner is managing inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory and costs.
Essential Functions
Monitor inventory levels daily and analyze data to forecast trends and demand for specific products and materials.
Develop and maintain inventory control procedures, including reconciling inventory counts, cycle counting, and physical inventories.
Work collaboratively with purchasing, production, and logistics departments to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts and overstocks.
Maintain accurate inventory records in the company's systems and identify discrepancies and errors, taking corrective action where necessary.
Identify slow-moving inventory and develop strategies to reduce or liquidate those items, including working with the sales and marketing departments to promote those items.
Develop and report inventory key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, including inventory turns, days of inventory on hand, and other relevant metrics.
Work with suppliers and vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of goods.
Evaluate new products and materials and determine their viability for inclusion in the company's inventory.
Implement and maintain inventory management software and systems to streamline processes and improve accuracy and efficiency.

Education & Experience
Required
Associates / 2 year Technical School
2-4 years applicable job experience
Preferred
SAP Experience
Bilingual experience preferred, but not required (English/Spanish)
