Position: Behavioral Health Counselor for Interior Medication Assisted Treatment. IMAT is a comprehensive Opioid Treatment Program providing medication for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorders in combination with counseling and case management services.
Position is available immediately.
Pay: Starting $26 - $32 per hour DOE and credentials
Hours: 20-25 hours per week. Start and end times are flexible
Qualifications: Have or be working toward a Master’s Degree in Counseling or related field. Have or be willing to work toward Alaska Chemical Dependency Counselor Certification
Duties: Provide treatment and support services to clients with Opioid Use Disorders; including screening, assessment, individual and group counseling, consumer advocacy/support, education and resource identification assistance to clients. On-boarding activities include front desk reception and harm reduction supply exchange, and dosing check-in for IMAT consumers.
Understand and support medication assisted treatment, possess above average communication skills and have experience working with people from diverse cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in human services or substance abuse field preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills

- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must have a current Alaska driver’s license and own transportation.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in verbal, non-verbal and written communication.
- Adaptive skills such as flexibility, self-awareness, being coachable, and good listening skills.
