We are currently looking for a VP of Finance & Accounting to lead the accounting team for one of the largest contract flooring companies in the Southwest at our Tempe, AZ office. The VP is responsible for financial oversight of the company, working closely with the executive staff locally and with the parent company. Duties include financial reporting, managing the accounting team, managing and improving the accounting systems and processes, and working with other management team members with day-to-day business needs.
This role requires a self-directed and experienced Finance & Accounting professional to oversee all accounting responsibilities of the organization. This person will assist the CFO and President with finance-related tasks and reporting. They will support operation managers with financial information and will be a strategic member of the leadership team. The ideal candidate embraces finding solutions to complex problems, guides financial decisions, monitors and enforces policies and procedures, actively manages the financial well-being of the company, and supports and develops the accounting team. Being a self-starting, highly detailed professional who practices discretion in all company matters is a must. The right person can handle shifting priorities and meet corporate and business unit deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manage all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business unit results including intercompany transactions
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare accurate and consistent internal and external financial statements and reporting
- Support the annual external audit
- Forecast and manage cash
- Provide management with timely information for business decisions
- Prepare property and sales tax reporting
- Support the budgeting process
- Establish, maintain, and enforce internal control procedures and company policies
- Interface with management in various departments in a professional manner
- Manage and develop accounting resources
- Interface with accounting software vendors / developers to monitor and improve the system’s processes
- This is an in-office position as daily face-to-face interaction with employees and the team is required
- Other responsibilities as assigned
