What are the responsibilities and job description for the OSP Construction Manager position at Intermax Networks?
Description
An Intermax Outside Plant Construction Manager (OPCM) is responsible for outside plant construction projects involving fiber and cable plant construction. The OPCM will report directly to the Manager of Outside Plant and Fiber Construction and is expected to work with a great deal of independence, commitment and responsibility.
This includes managing:
- Project estimating and budgeting
- Participate in Annual strategic planning efforts
- Participate in plan update meetings
- Construction project budgeting
- Reporting to the Rolling Four cash projection
- Design of the fiber network and cable plants
- Product selection, particularly in regard to FTTH (where we have many options and much to learn)
- Route planning
- Return on investment calculations
- Construction management
- Ordering of equipment and supplies
- Selection and management of subcontractors for construction and splicing
- Deciding what aspects of the fiber construction, splicing and maintenance to insource or outsource
- OSPInsight network software documentation creation and maintenance
- Personnel management of the OSP team
- Interface with the wireless and core engineering team
Requirements
The job requires a minimum of 3 years of direct management of outside plant projects of a comparable nature to the work that Intermax performs.
