Job Summary:
As a Medical Imaging Technician at Intermountain Health, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where no two days are ever the same. You will be responsible for producing high-quality medical images, working closely with patients, and collaborating with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities:
- Produce medical images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist
- Position and instruct patients regarding imaging procedures
- Perform imaging procedures using portable machines as requested by Emergency Department and nursing units
- Process images for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures
- Communicate with patients, families, healthcare team members, and physicians both in-person and via telephone
- Maintain imaging equipment in efficient operating order; ensure preventative maintenance is performed on a regularly scheduled basis
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required
