About the Role:
As an MRI Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care while performing MRI examinations under the direction of physicians to aid in medical diagnosis or treatment of injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- We are looking for a dedicated individual to execute MRI safety protocols diligently to maintain magnet safety for patients, staff, and caregivers.
- Selecting appropriate technical parameters and scanning techniques in coordination with radiologists is crucial to ensure high-quality clinical exams.
- Patient identification, order verification, and preparation for exams are essential tasks that require attention to detail.
- Performing MRI examinations according to system and department protocols is critical to delivering accurate results.
- Understanding cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrating anatomical positioning and multiplanar image reconstruction skills are required for success in this role.
- Administering contrast and medication under the direction of radiologists or supervising clinicians requires careful consideration and expertise.
- Maintaining competency in clinical and technical functions is essential for providing quality patient care.
Requirements:
- Achieving ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification is mandatory for this position.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in MRI or Advanced Radiologic Science is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
- This role requires ongoing visual acuity and ability to read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require strong verbal communication skills, hearing, and understanding spoken information.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment with precision and accuracy is essential.
- Lifting and transferring patients, bending to retrieve supplies, and walking/assisting with transporting patients and equipment are physical demands of this role.
