Network Engineer Senior

Job Description : The Network Engineer - Senior supports the stable operation of the in-house computer network (LAN / WAN). This includes planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring network availability. The person diagnoses, resolves, and documents network problems and their solutions. Senior-level professional experienced in all aspects of networking and technology. Encompasses full knowledge required within the networking specialty area. Typically designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others. Functions independently with minimal oversight and direction. Provides technical and professional guidance and leadership to peers.Job EssentialsInstalls, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products.Maintains all network hardware and equipment, including switches, wireless, DHCP and UPSs.Monitors and tests network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.Receives and responds to incoming calls, pages, and / or e-mails.Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repair.Recommends, schedules, and performs network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.Prepares, maintains, and adheres to procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network data.Acts as a liaise with, and provides training and support to, client services staff on network issues.Provides guidance to other members of the team as required.Performs data closet management.Performs network deployment and configuration.Collaborates with network architects to ensure compliance with network standards.Participates in 24 / 7 on-call rotation.Prepares and ensures accuracy of documentation.Minimum QualificationsCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) skill set.Bachelor's degree in computer science / information management / engineering. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.or -Four years of experience in a network engineering related field.and -Six years of networking experience, or any combination of equivalent education in experience in computer science, information management, or related engineering field.and -Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) skill set.and -Demonstrated working technical knowledge of LAN / WAN / Wireless networking.and -Demonstrated working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.and -Demonstrated ability to operate network component analysis tools.and -Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.and -Hands-on troubleshooting experience.and -Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.and -Demonstrated knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.Preferred QualificationsCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.Strong written and oral communication skills.and -Good interpersonal skills.and -Self motivated and directed.and -Keen attention to detail.and -Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.and -Strong customer service orientation.and -Experience in a healthcare environment.and -Working knowledge of layer two and layer three of the OSI modelPhysical Requirements : Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.and -Operate computers and other IT equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.and -See and read computer monitors and documents.and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.Location : Lake Park BuildingWork City : West Valley CityWork State : UtahScheduled Weekly Hours : 40The hourly range for this position is listed below.
