What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Technologist position at Intermountain Health?
Job Summary: As a Registered Radiology Technologist, you will perform medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician. You will be responsible for ensuring proper patient identification, order verification, and preparing patients for exams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures proper patient identification and prepares patients for exams
- Is sensitive to patients' needs throughout procedures and explains exams to patients and family members
- Performs radiologic exams that produce quality images and ensures patient and staff safety
- Utilizes sterile technique when performing invasive procedures
- Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds quickly and appropriately
- Completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage
- Coresponds with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
- Maintains a clean, safe environment and organizes supplies and equipment
- Develops skills in new procedures and equipment and assists students and other technologists as needed
Shift Details:
- Full-time (36 hours per week)
- Works at two locations: North Cache Valley InstaCare and Logan InstaCare
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Shift: 7:45 am - 7:30 pm
- Weekends and holidays are required
Requirements:
- ARRT registration
- Current Rad Tech license in state of practice (if working in Utah)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare providers
- May be required to complete Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualification:
- IV certification
