Job Description:
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Hospice Volunteer Program in their local office(s). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruiting, training, supervising, and retaining volunteers.
Scope
At a small hospital or facility, the Volunteer Services Coordinator acts as a single incumbent leadership role. In support of a large facility or facility with 900 plus volunteers, the Coordinator acts as part of a multi-tiered leadership structure.
Job Essentials
- Assists manager with recruiting, screening, and placement of volunteers. Helps complete related paperwork and tracking.
- Supports manager in supervising and evaluating volunteers and in responding to volunteer needs and inquiries.
- Provides training, supervision, and scheduling for gift shop staff and volunteers.
- Ensures compliance to regulatory and legal guidelines.
- Supports leadership with data gathering, tracking, and reporting.
- Assists in reviewing and communicating volunteer services program policies and procedures.
- Establishes and maintains positive team relationships with employees and volunteers.
- Takes ownership for meeting customer needs and resolving concerns and issues.
- May assist leadership in supporting gift shop as needed.
Shift Details
- Wednesday - 4 hours
- Thursday - 8 hours
- Friday - 8 hours
- 20 hours/ part time benefits
Minimum Qualifications
- One year of experience in an administrative, customer service, or retail sales role.
- Experience relating to and working with diverse populations.
- Experience developing and promoting programs or initiatives in a related setting.
- Computer skills in working with spreadsheets, word processing, data bases, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a volunteer, healthcare, or community organization.
