Phlebotomist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and other specimen collections while ensuring patient comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology, as well as excellent patient care skills.

Duties

• Perform venipunctures and capillary draws for blood collection with precision and care.
• Process and label specimens accurately according to laboratory protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health regulations.
• Monitor and record vital signs to ensure patient stability before and after procedures.
• Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures to patients and addressing any concerns.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient specimen handling and processing.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures during specimen collection.
• Stay updated on laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and physiology knowledge relevant to phlebotomy.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or higher education.
• At least one year of phlebotomy experience in the hospital/industry.
• Certification or qualification in recognized courses related to phlebotomy is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with computers and related peripherals

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
