About the Position
The International Free Expression Project (IFEP) seeks a creative, organized, and driven Social Media Intern to join our team for the upcoming semester. This internship is an exciting opportunity for students with a passion for social media management, content creation, storytelling and advocacy.
The intern will be responsible for managing our content calendar, creating and scheduling 2-3 social media posts per week, and writing at least 1 blog post per month. This position will provide hands-on experience in digital storytelling, while supporting IFEP's global mission.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and effectively communicate IFEP’s mission and goals across all social channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
- Research, create and post social media content that maintains brand identity and voice through visual and written communications
- Manage the content calendar (2-3 posts per week).
- Write blog posts for “Free Expression This Week” (1-2 per month)
- Track social media analytics and identify ways to improve
- Assist in content and SEO updates to IFEP’s website as needed
- Assist Operations Director in other miscellaneous content creation tasks
Requirements:
- Design experience using Canva (Illustrator, Photoshop a plus)
- Experience editing social media reels and other videos
- Basic understanding of SEO best practices and social media trends
- Ability to conceptualize and create strategic social media campaigns
- Commitment of 10 hours of remote work each week (including 1 weekly video call, regular check-ins and 1 monthly team meeting.)
