Essential Responsibilities
- Client Support & Intake - communicate with clients interested in relocation and assist walk-in clients from other states; conduct intake assessments and maintain regular communication with clients.
- Housing Assistance - find suitable accommodation for clients; communicate with landlords and educate clients on rent, utilities, and tenant responsibilities; and develop and maintain a list of landlords willing to provide accommodations without requiring a guarantor.
- Case Management & Documentation - manage individual client files, track allocated expenses and service; document all services provided.
- Employment & Self-Sufficiency Support - Encourage self-sufficiency; early employment through IISTL Workforce Solutions Department; and refer clients to IISTL other services that they qualify for.
- Education - enroll clients' children in school and coordinate with school districts.
- Household & Community Resources - coordinate with relevant departments or external organizations to provide household items and other necessities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to diffuse client complaints/conflicts.
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions.
- Understand and adhere to professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor;
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced multi-priority environment;
- Excellent planning and organizing skills; ability to anticipate outcomes;
- Proficient MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook);
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as critical thinking ability;
- Ability to treat confidential information with sensitivity;
- Ability to be administratively self-supportive and work hands-on with own initiative to accomplish objectives;
- Ability to effectively plan work activities, schedules, priorities and utilization of resources;

- Recommended fluency in the Dari and Pashto languages spoken by the Afghan population.
