Status of Appointment : Permanent (Malaysian only)
Basic salary : between RM6,210.00 to RM14,370.00 (based on experience)
Area of specialization : Traffic, transportation and infrastructure in urban planning
or urban design
Department : Department of Urban and Regional Planning
Kulliyyah (Faculty) : Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design
Location : Gombak
The officer shall attend meetings of IIUM Authorities, Boards and Committees to which he, being an academic staff member, may be appointed as a member by virtue of the IIUM Constitution or any Statutes or Acts, or of any administrative actions of the Rector, Dean or Head of the Kulliyyah/Centre/ Department.
The officer is also expected to participate in the general life of the IIUM community.
The officer is also expected to advise and guide students in relation to their character, behavior and moral conduct. In short, he is not only a teacher (Mu'allim), a scholar ('Alim) but also a moral educator (Murabbi).

Kulliyyah (Faculty) : Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design

- Scope The officer shall be a member of the staff of the Kulliyyah/Centre/Department to which he is assigned by the IIUM and the officer shall perform teaching, examining, and research duties and such other obligations as are normally required of an academic staff member of the IIUM.

3. Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
- Developing curriculum and course material that can be used across a number of platforms.
- Collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.
- Setting and grading assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Conducting research, and writing papers, proposals, journal articles, and books.
- Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.
- Participating in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution.
- Providing support to students and other colleagues.
- Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.
- A Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
- Register with Lembaga Perancang Bandar Malaysia
- Previous teaching and professional working experience.
- Actively publish in articles or newspapers work is preferable.
- Research work would be an advantages
- Specialization or expertise in transportation planning, infrastructure planning or urban design is preferable.
- Minimum Competencies
- Ability to inspire students with your passion.
- Flexibility, resilience, and willingness to work long hours
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant teaching experience is an advantages
- Relevant industry experience in town planning, transportation and urban design is an advantages
- Excellence in AutoCAD is preferable
- Corporate member with Lembaga Perancang Bandar Malaysia is preferable
- Language Qualifications
- Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level OR equivalent qualification recognized by the Government (for Malaysian citizens).
- IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidate without any of these qualification will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.
