What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sped Instructional Aide position at International Leadership of Texas?
This position supports students with disabilities in a school setting.
Starting compensation includes:
- $7,000 Sped Level 3 Stipend
- $3,000 Late Hire Bonus to be paid across remaining checks
The primary purpose of this role is to assist with the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help and behavior management.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support
- Assist with preparing instructional materials and maintaining a neat and orderly classroom environment.
- Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Support administrative tasks such as keeping records and preparing reports.
- Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
Student Management
- Meet the individual needs of students, including physical support and personal care.
- Manage mild behaviors and recognize differences in student needs to adapt methods and interaction.
- Work with students to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality and participate in professional development programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
- 48 Earned College Credits or Associates degree preferred.
- High School Diploma if formal academic assessment is passed as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- Two years of experience working with children, preferably those with disabilities.
This role requires the ability to work under general supervision, follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
