What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Coordinator position at International Matex Tank Terminals?
The Terminal Training Coordinator is responsible for developing a workforce that is safe, effective, efficient, knowledgeable, competent, and driven to improve.
Responsibilities
Develop training protocols to include training requirements and methods of conducting training
Develop course materials such as training manuals, operating procedures, work instructions, training syllabuses, study guides and tests
Conduct initial and refresher training sessions of terminal operations
Administer, review and score competency test including written, demonstrations or other evaluations
Maintain training records as required
Assist in daily operations and / or special projects as needed
Perform other duties related to employee development
Education and Experience
College degree in Education
Minimum of 5 years of classroom experience in secondary education
Experience in field operations
Valid Driver's License
TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT's terminal locations.
Skills and Abilities
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
Ability to work closely with others with a positive attitude and a willingness to help others.
Ability to represent IMTT in a professional and positive manner.
Compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
Ability to interact with vendors, service providers, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to learn and adapt in a growing and changing environment
Hours of Work
Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm.
This position requires overtime and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.
Occasional travel may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.
Physical and Environmental Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The large scale of the operation and the extensive layout of the facility require that the employee have the ability to walk and stand on uneven terrain, to climb stairs and ladders, and traverse inclines : uphill, downhill or mixed.
Because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the applicant must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. Must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Must be able to work in a confined space, work over water, climb stairs and not be afraid of heights. Must be capable of wearing respirator and / or other PPE during some operations or emergencies.
