Position Overview
The International Motors San Antonio Manufacturing Plant is a benchmark facility that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles to meet the needs of today’s – and tomorrow’s – customers. This facility has the flexibility to build Class 6-8 trucks along with Electric Vehicles that allow International to add capacity to support anticipated industry growth. Using the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected manufacturing principles, International’s newest manufacturing facility will continue growing our market share gains, optimizing our supplier network and improving quality.We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our team!
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and implementing layout changes to plant, office, and production equipment to enhance operational efficiency, optimize facility and equipment use, and ensure regulatory compliance. This includes coordinating with architecture and engineering firms to develop design criteria, prepare detailed drawings, and manage bid sheets and contracts for construction and facility acquisitions. The specialist will also estimate costs for equipment, installation, labor, materials, and related expenses.
Additionally, the planner will monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, and schedules, while developing criteria and performance specifications to meet operational needs and comply with building and safety codes. The role requires technical expertise, project management skills, and a strong focus on cost control, safety, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance schedules, both long and short term.
- Schedule maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and production.
- Prioritize maintenance tasks based on criticality and impact on operations.
- Create, assign & manage work orders for maintenance tasks; track status of work orders ensuring timely completion.
- Coordinate with MRO to ensure necessary tools, parts and materials are available for maintenance activities.
- Monitor and analyze maintenance data to identify trends, areas for improvement and potential issues.
- Prepare reports on maintenance performance, costs, downtime.
- Collaborate with Facilities Engineer, Maintenance Technicians and other stakeholders ensuring smooth and efficient maintenance operations.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and regulations related to maintenance.
- Will serve as backup to Maintenance Management as needed for planning coverage.
- Use and understand maintenance practices and principles including both mechanical and electrical
- Use of Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management Software (EAMS)
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 2 years of facilities planning/engineering experience
OR
- Master’s degree
OR
- At least 4 years of facilities planning/engineering experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
