About the Role:
As a TRICARE Coordinating Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing professional medical assistance to TRICARE beneficiaries, ensuring they receive the best possible healthcare support. Based in our San Antonio, TX, office, you will liaise with medical professionals, assess care standards globally, and deliver exceptional service aligned with TRICARE guidelines.
What you'll do:
- Perform telephone triage to assess and direct beneficiaries’ care needs.
- Review healthcare requests, issue authorizations or denials, and ensure compliance with TRICARE policy.
- Deliver medical advice tailored to beneficiaries' unique situations, ensuring optimal care standards.
- Monitor and manage beneficiary cases, maintaining frequent communication with providers and stakeholders.
- Assist with medical evacuations, assessing necessity and coordinating logistics.
- Provide comprehensive medical documentation and communicate recommendations to the TRICARE Area Office.
- Train and mentor TRICARE staff to uphold excellence in medical management.
What we're looking for:
Education & Certification:
- Current and unrestricted Nursing license (from any U.S. state or territory).
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Experience & Skills:
- Clinical case management or telephone triage experience preferred.
- Broad medical knowledge in areas like primary care, acute care (ICU/ED), or cruise ship nursing.
- Excellent customer service skills and strong critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records.
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.

This position does require someone who can obtain and maintain the appropriate level of tiered investigation access for a position of Trust after being offered a position. International SOS will facilitate.
This is a shift-based role with fixed schedules.
