What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant position at International Staff Consulting?
Our client is a leading mid-sized law firm with offices around the tri-state. They are currently in need of a full-time Accounting Assistant for their Uniondale, NY office (central Nassau county) to report and assist the Accounting Manager. This is a hybrid role - 3 days in the office, 2 remote, working 9-5pm. Salary for this role runs from $50,000-60,000 depending on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and code vendor invoices and ensure proper authorization
- Input vendor invoices into Aderant accounting system
- Process vendor payments, obtain signatures for checks and mail out payments
- Review vendor statements
- Investigate payment inquiries
- Research uncashed checks and reissue as needed
- Process journal entries
- Assist with matter maintenance in Aderant
- Record incoming wire transfers
- Prepare check deposits and record in Aderant
- Process client credit card payments
- Investigate incoming payments with no remittance information
- Assist with trust / escrow activity
- Ad hoc requests and special projects
