What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oxy Fuel/Plasma Burn Table Operator position at International Steel and Counterweights?
Summary of Responsibilities: This position will be setting up, adjusting and operating the burn table to cut raw materials such as steel plates, structural, extrusions, etc. as assigned.
Specific Duties:
- Work from verbal instructions, drawings, blueprints, sketches, bills of material, cutting lists, etc.
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates multi-Torch, hand torch, and Oxygen-Acetylene flame cutting equipment.
- Uses drawings to determine how cuts should be made.
- May perform simple cleaning maintenance operations.
- Reports abnormal conditions of equipment to supervision.
- Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps work area clean and orderly.
Job Requirements
- Mechanically inclined.
- Reliable/Dependable
- 1-year experience operating a programmable oxy/fuel burn table a plus
- 1-year experience operating a programmable plasma burn table a plus
- Experience reading blueprints a plus.
- Able to read a tape measure.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Open minded and willing to learn company process.
- Willingness to work any shift.
- Ability to follow instructions provided by supervisor.
- Burn 10, Edge Pro, or Messer Navigator burn table experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situation.
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly.
