Job Overview
The Bookkeeper Aposition will provide professional support for the Accounting Department. This role will function as a liaison with other department staff, UAW staff, and affiliates and report to the Assistant Chief Accountant.
In this role you will manage transactions across the Accounting system, which houses the various CAP and PAC accounts. You will be employing UAW’s processes for recording income, processing invoices for accounts payable, reconciling accounts, and financial reporting.
Job Description
- Balance and post transactions to the various general ledgers in the accounting system with exceptional accuracy
- Provide meticulous administrative support with strict confidentiality
- Perform job duties within scheduled deadlines
- Function as a liaison with other department staff, UAW staff, and affiliates
- Know, interpret, and apply organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
- Assist with the development, and assessment of office systems, procedures, and operations
- Review and process incoming correspondence and materials, as well as prepare proper communications in response
- Record and reconcile income
- Process and input payment requests into the Accounting system
- Balance and post transactions within the general ledgers
- Proof and post journal entries
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
