Job Overview
The Clerical Bookkeeper (Temporary Position*) provides professional support for the Accounting Department. This role will act as a liaison with other department staff, UAW staff and affiliates and reports to the Chief Accountant of the UAW Accounting Department.
In this role you will manage transactions across various accounting systems employing UAW’s processes for reviewing and processing employee travel and expense reports for disbursement, maintaining the Concur user file, and assisting with other department functions.
*This is a Temporary position with an immediate start date. A successful candidate will be considered for full-time employment.
Job Description/Daily Tasks
- Review Concur expense reports submitted by UAW staff and clerical for processing and reimbursement.
- Provide assistance to clerical and staff with submission of Concur expense reports when needed.
- Download the weekly Concur expense file for expense disbursement.
- Update the Concur user file by adding or changing user information based on employee or administrative change notifications.
- Assist with payroll tax payment processing and serve as back-up to the payroll tax desk.
- Run Mastercard activity reports for chargebacks and travel related inquires.
- Prepare annual census report.
- Provide meticulous administrative support with strict confidentiality.
- Perform job duties within scheduled deadlines
- Function as a liaison with other department staff, UAW staff and affiliates
- Know, interpret, and apply organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
- Assist with development, and assessment of office systems, procedures, and operations
- Review and process incoming correspondence and materials, as well as prepare proper communications in response.
- Respond to inquiries from the staff and clerical employees.
- Time management and planning are essential to prioritizing daily tasks.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
Temporary employees receive the health care benefits of a first-year entry level employee after three (3) months of continuous employment. After six (6) months of continuous employment, Temporary employees will be entitled to receive all benefits of a first-year entry level employee with the exception of lay off benefits.
