Position Overview
The Senior Manager IT, HR & Marketing in the Indirect Purchasing group manages over $400 million of spend supporting the IT, Marketing, and HR, including the Travel category. This manager is responsible for managing a group of 6 employees. This position will be responsible for all aspects of Indirect Purchasing with the goal of adding significant value to the company's bottom line and ensuring compliance with policy. The candidate will serve as an internal consultant in the areas of purchasing systems, processes, and policies and will regularly report progress of KPI goals to Executive Leadership.
The successful candidate will understand, analyze, forecast, communicate, strategize and act on supplier purchases in the IT & Marketing group as well as drive collaboration opportunities with VW brands. The candidate will utilize PowerBI, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, Ivalua and Globe systems to ensure performance and cost visibility for the group.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes category sourcing strategies including RFI’s and RFP’s, documents bid events through correspondence to suppliers; develops selection criteria and drives the selection of suppliers in collaboration with a cross-functional teams; conducts supplier negotiations and ongoing supplier management.
- Supports and ensures that Indirect purchasing functions, such as RFI, RFP, supplier negotiations, cost analysis, vendor selection and contracting are completed.
- Provides approvals within the Ivaula and PeopleSoft systems to ensure corporate purchasing processes and policies are followed.
- Interacts directly with various internal stakeholders at all levels within International Motors, VW brands and outside suppliers.
- Directs team activity and execution across multiple categories, strategic sourcing strategies, best practices, and initiatives that support aggressive improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, delivery, pricing, lead-times, payment, risk compliance and other areas as identified.
- Provides continuous leadership, oversight of work quality and constructive feedback to direct reports.
- Collaborates and influences leaders outside of category span of control.
- Streamlines business processes; researches and provides information on industry category trends. Provides procurement input to maximize leverage.
- Uses current spend information / data and business knowledge to identify sourcing projects and develops an overall cost reduction plan. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of business requirements and category ownership by creating and defending category strategies and decisions with sound analytics
- Measures supplier performance against agreed upon key performance indicators.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree
At least 6 years of purchasing / procurement experience
At least 3 years of leadership experience
Master's degree
At least 5 years of purchasing / procurement experience
At least 3 years of leadership experience
At least 11 years of purchasing / procurement experience
At least 3 years of leadership experience
Additional Requirements
